Watch how the two-grid metal barrier feeds small and large birds alike, and slows down the squirrels. The 1 inch diameter openings on top of the platform feeder allow the cardinals and grosbeaks to feed through the openings with their thick bills. While the second layer has 1/2 inch diameter openings to restrict the amount of seed squirrels can clutch. There’s an extra 1/4 inch of space between the perforated metal flooring and the lower white metal grid, so squirrels can't quite reach the seed with their little arms! For best results, cover the bottom tray with black oil sunflower seed. Durable blue recycled plastic frame lasts for years. 14-1/8 x 11-3/4 x 2-5/8 inches.
